Minister of Health Ali Al-Zanati confirmed the provision of more than 5 million doses of the American “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine during the next five days, in two or three batches.
Al-Zinati explained – during his meeting with “our government media platform” – on Sunday, that the number of people vaccinated has reached 71,340 so far, 1% of the percentage of those registered in the vaccination system.

In a related context, the Director of the Vaccination Department, Abdul Basit Smiu, confirmed that preparations are underway to import shipments of vaccinations, pointing out that the percentage of registration in the vaccination system amounted to 687 thousand and 341 citizens, and the demand for vaccinations is increasing.
Smiu explained that the number of vaccine doses that reached Libya amounted to 407,000 doses of the three different vaccines: Sputnik 200,000 doses, AstraZeneca 57,000 doses, and the Chinese vaccine 150,000 doses.
It is reported that the Ministry of Health announced on April 10 the launch of the Coronavirus vaccination campaign in all regions of Libya.
