Egyptian official: We will send a first batch of Egyptian workers to Libya soon.

Head of the workers Enrollment Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, Hamdi Imam, said that the arrival of the first batch of Egyptian workers to Libya will be after Eid al-Fitr, noting that their number is about 2 million workers in the first 3 years, which will be in batches.

In statements to the Egyptian Al-Watan website, Imam added that clear procedures and controls have not yet been established regarding the arrival of batches of Egyptian workers to Libya to participate in reconstruction projects, pointing out that these controls will regulate the entry of workers and will be much better than they were in 2010. with work contracts, visas and other controls that will be announced upon their official approval.

The head of the division affirmed that the two countries ’agreement on the return of Egyptian workers to Libya is a positive matter for the labor market, citizens and employment companies, and that the memorandum of understanding signed by Egypt with Libya will restore reconstruction and development in Libya, and the first batch of workers will be after the reopening of the embassy and consulate in Libya.

It is worth noting that, on April 20, Egypt and Libya signed 11 memoranda of understanding for joint cooperation between the two countries, most notably the return of Egyptian workers to Libya.
