Kubis calls for international support to hold the elections next December.

The UN envoy to Libya “Jan Kubiš” called on the international community to provide support for the Libyan people and the new leadership. To hold the elections on the scheduled date of December 24th.

On Friday, Kubis said that the visit of the foreign ministers of Germany, Heiko Maas, France, Jean-Yves Le Drian, and Italy, Luigi Di Maio, is a strong indication of a unified European position in support of Libya in its march towards peace, stability, democracy, unity and sovereignty, according to Official page of the United Nations Mission.

It is worth noting that the UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, stressed on Wednesday the need to immediately start work on election laws, and to establish a clear legal and constitutional framework, for the elections scheduled to take place on December 24th.
