The Security Council welcomes the elections of the executive authority and calls for commitment to the ceasefire

The UN Security Council welcomed the results of the new executive authority elections in Libya, calling on all parties to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and implement its provisions, and the need for foreign forces and mercenaries to leave the country.

The Council stressed – in an official statement – Tuesday, the importance of supporting the efforts of the new UN envoy, “Jan Kubis” and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, in addition to commitment to the country’s unity and sovereignty – according to Anadolu Agency –

It is worth noting that the Geneva Political Dialogue Forum selected last Friday, the list of candidates Mohammed Al-Manaifi as President of the Presidential Council, and the membership of Abdullah Al-Lafi, Moussa Al-Koni and Abdulhamid Dbaiba as Prime Minister with 39 votes.
