The search Authority confirms the arrival of operational materials for DNA analysis to identify victims of mass graves in Tarhouna.

Head of the Search and Identification of Missing Persons, Kamal Al-Siwi, confirmed the arrival of all operational materials for the DNA analyzes that the authority needs to reach and identify the bodies recovered from the mass graves in Tarhuna, and compare them with samples of the victims’ families.

Al-Siwi discussed during his meeting with a member of Parliament for the city of Tarhuna Abo Baker Saeed, on Tuesday, the latest developments regarding conducting DNA tests for the families of the missing and creating a database for them.

Al-Siwi stressed the authority’s intention to start conducting calibration tests for materials initially. In the coming days, to begin conducting an analysis of the samples that were taken from the families of the victims in Tarhuna.

It is worth noting that the management council of Tarhuna municipality announced on the 22nd of last January, the burial of 14 bodies that were identified from a number of mass graves in the city of Tarhuna.
