Saima Mohsen is the first Muslim to hold the position of “Attorney General” in the United States of America.

American media announced, Tuesday, that a 52-year-old American of Pakistani origin, Saima Mohsen, has been appointed as the Attorney General of Detroit, Michigan, becoming the first Muslim woman to occupy the position in the United States.

Saima will assume this position starting from the beginning of next February. The US Department of Justice said that Saima would take over the Anti-Violence and Organized Crime Unit at the Attorney General’s Office, the Anti-Drug Division and the General Crimes Unit.

It is worth noting that Saima Mohsen, was born in Pakistan, and later immigrated to the United States, began working in a law firm in 2002, and she held several positions, including Deputy Attorney General in New Jersey, and assistant attorney general in Manhattan.
