The Scientific Advisory Committee to Combat Coronavirus has recommended that travel to countries in which the new strain of virus has appeared should be temporarily suspended, and that financial fines be applied for violating the precautionary measures.
The committee stated in one of its recommendations during its meeting with the Epidemiology Committee on Monday, the necessity of setting restrictions and controls by the competent authorities to implement precautionary measures and prevent gatherings in banks, work sites, restaurants, cafes, markets, funerals, weddings, exhibitions and conferences.
The committee added that it is necessary to monitor community activities, especially education, in the application and follow-up of preventive measures, and to strengthen procedures in areas with high rates of infection.
The committee noticed an increase in the number of positive cases and cases in isolation centers, especially care rooms; As a result, the epidemiological level rose by four points to the fourth level, with higher rates in the areas of southern Tripoli, Al-jabel and southwest of Al-Merqib.
The committee warned that in the event that the precautionary and complete preparedness measures are not applied and careful follow-up to all sectors of the state, especially education, universities and institutes, the situation will be critical and need strict measures, pointing out that the percentage of positive analyzes for travelers according to the statistics of the laboratories analysis reaches 15%.
