Italian Foreign Minister Luigi de Maio said that the current course of dialogue must be preserved and attempts to sabotage the progress made on this path must be thwarted.
According to Aki Agency, de Maio confirmed on Friday that maintaining dialogue is in order to reach a comprehensive political solution that the Libyans negotiate with regard to the security of their country, pointing out that the process of stabilizing the country has begun, but its path is still long.
de Maio added that there is a need today more than ever before for all the efforts of the international community to ensure full support for the United Nations mission and its progress, which began with a ceasefire and the resumption of oil production.
It is worth noting that the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya “Stephanie Williams said in mid-November that those obstructing the political process may be subject to sanctions, stressing that the mission contacted the Acting Libyan Attorney General, Counselor Ibrahim Masoud, to address this issue.
