36 unidentified bodies with bullet marks found in the outskirts of Benghazi

Late Thursday, a military source stated that 36 unidentified bodies with bullet marks were found in Abyar, a town 50 km Southwest of Benghazi. The source added that “residents of Abyar told the security directorate that dozens of bodies were found on the road of a deserted area”.

Political tension and overall instability plaguing Libya continues to be a cause for concern. The finding of unidentified marked bodies has been a recurring issue throughout the past couple of years. In 2016, the bodies of 14 handcuffed individuals were found near the Benghazi Social Security Fund and another 10 unidentified bodies marked with bullet marks and signs of torture were discovered within Benghazi’s military prison.
