The Joint Operations Unit in #Misrata explained that recent arrests inside the city were based on arrest warrants issued by the Attorney General’s Office. The Operations Unit stated that all arrests were carried out based on joint security work led ,by the Security Directorate of #Misrata.
The Operations Unit went on to state that they are conscious of the displaced inside Misrata and that they do not aim to increase their suffering; clarifying that the security campaign is only targeting those belonging to “terrorist” groups.
In the past period, the city of Misrata had witnessed extensive arrest campaigns after the bombing of the court complex.
