Will the Corona vaccine repair what has been messed up by the Presidential Council and the Ministry of Health in combating the spread of the virus?

Despite the confirmation of the failure of the Presidential Council and the Ministry of Health to deal with the Corona virus that swept Libya like all countries of the world, their plans failed, and helped the spread of the virus and the increase in cases of infection despite the allocation of a budget estimated at half a billion dinars.

The last general statistics, according to the National Center for Disease Control, the total number of injuries, “cumulative number”, reached 82,430, active cases: 27,998, recovered persons: 53,266, and the number of deaths reached 1166.

President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, decided on March 15 to allocate half a billion dinars to take the necessary measures in order to confront the threat of the emerging corona virus, announcing through a televised speech the state of emergency and general mobilization in Libya to confront the infiltration of the Corona virus into the country.

The Ministry of Health stood watching the situation, which contributed to the spread of the virus comfortably throughout the country, and its Undersecretary, Mohamed Haytham, was accused of corruption and wasting public money by the Public Prosecutor’s Investigation Office.

Corruption of Health Ministry

The Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Government of National Accord said that the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Haytham Issa, is wanted to testify as all those responsible for the military medical service are, in the context of interrogating them about the waste of the military institution’s funds, announcing that he escaped from a port outside Tripoli with a false passport, concealed and disguised as one of the war wounded.

Last August, the director of the Military Prosecution branch, Tripoli, Ayoub Al-Ajili, instructed that seven defendants, including Mohamed Haytham Issa, be placed in the case of financial abuse and wasting public money in the military medicine authority and on the list of those banned from traveling abroad, along with taking their passports.

The head of the Scientific Advisory Committee to Combat the Coronavirus Pandemic, Khalifa Al-Bakoush, confirmed that there are steps by the Presidential Council that have begun to obtain 6 thousand anti-Coronavirus vaccines in cooperation with the World Health Organization.

In November, Al-Bakoush explained that the first stage will be limited to the groups most vulnerable to the virus, such as medical and assistant medical teams, the elderly, and people with chronic diseases.

According to preliminary information, the committee confirmed that the Audit Bureau granted permission to the Ministry of Health to sign a contract to obtain the Corona vaccine, with a value of 9 million and 619 thousand dollars.
