More than 3 thousand illegal immigrants in Libya are registered in the voluntary repatriation program.

The European Union mission in Libya said, Wednesday, that more than 3,000 illegal immigrants in Libya are currently registered in the voluntary humanitarian repatriation program.

The mission stated, in a statement issued by them, that it is organizing 7 evacuation flights by the end of 2020, noting that 51,000 migrants have received assistance to return to their home countries since it began its operations in Libya in 2015.

The mission indicated that it began its work last August, and since then, six flights have transported more than 800 migrants to their countries of origin, including Ghana, Mali, Bangladesh, India and Sudan.
