Qatar hopes that the ceasefire in Libya will be a step towards a political solution.

Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, expressed his country’s aspiration that the ceasefire agreement in Libya be a step in the path of a comprehensive political solution that preserves the territorial integrity of Libya.

Al-Thani renewed during his meeting with Minister of Defense of the Government of National Accord, Salah Addin Al-Namroush, Thursday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, that his country welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire in all Libyan lands, stressing Qatar’s support for the sovereignty of Libya, according to the Qatari Foreign Ministry website.

It is reported that Al-Namroush signed a cooperation agreement between the two countries on Thursday with the Qatari Minister of Defense, in training and capacity building, which will contribute to supporting capacity building and benefiting from Qatari expertise.
