The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, welcomed the efforts made by the Joint Military Committee in Ghadames to implement the ceasefire agreement and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people to stop escalation and end the conflict.
Norland praised – as published by the American embassy – the initiation of concrete steps leading to the evacuation of foreign forces and foreign mercenaries from the country, stressing that this path is “important” when a wide group representing Libyans convenes in Tunis to start the Libyan political dialogue forum facilitated by the United Nations .
It is worth noting that the Joint Military Committee agreed on Tuesday to form a military sub-committee to oversee the return of the forces to their headquarters and the withdrawal of foreign forces from the contact lines.
