Al-Sarraj and “Williams”: The Tunis Dialogue is a historic opportunity for Libyans for a political solution.

The President of the Presidency Council, Faiz Al-Sarraj, agreed on Saturday with the Acting Head of the UN Mission, Stephanie Williams, that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum represents a historic opportunity for Libyans to move towards a political solution without outside interference.

The two parties confirmed, during a meeting in Tripoli, according to the media office of the President of the Presidential Council, that the forum is an opportunity to lay down a clear and binding road map with specific dates, to reach national elections that will be held on a solid constitutional base.

The two parties indicated that the political solution must include all Libyans and that everyone puts the country’s interest above their personal and regional interests, in order to preserve the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national unity of Libya.

It is worth noting that the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, said on October 10 that the participants in the Forum for Political Dialogue in Tunisia will be chosen from various components, based on the principles of inclusiveness and geographical, ethnic, political, tribal and equitable social representation.
