Arabi Al-Jadeed : Turkish mediation between the GNA and Moscow to release the Russian detainees.

The “Al Arabi Al Jadeed” website quoted local sources as saying that Turkey played the mediating role in the settlement agreement between Tripoli and Moscow regarding the release of Russian detainees.

He added, according to what the site published on Friday, that the Turkish mediation aimed at an attempt to penetrate the Russian position in favor of Khalifa Haftar and his militias, and to dissolve the file of “Wagner” mercenaries who are deployed in different locations.

For his part, the researcher in international relations, Mustafa Al-Barq, said that Ankara’s entry on the Libyan conflict line confused the accounts of many parties and scattered the papers, noting that Russia’s steps to rapprochement with the reconciliation government via Ankara confirm that its presence in Libya is nearing the end, in exchange for deals that do not seem to go beyond preserving its economic interests.

It is worth noting that the reconciliation government announced, in June last year, the arrest of two Russian citizens working for the Fund for the Protection of National Values on charges of espionage.
