The Minister of the Interior, Fathi Bashagha, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Siala, discussed, on Monday, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, bilateral cooperation relations, and the latest developments in Libya.
In the same context, the Ministry of Interior and its Qatari counterpart signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of security cooperation and combating terrorism and organized crime.
For his part, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar’s support for the reconciliation government, stressing the need for the Libyan parties to implement the Skhirat Agreement, Security Council decisions, and the outcomes of the Berlin Conference To consolidate the political solution path to the crisis.
It is worth noting that the defense ministers of Turkey and Qatar and the Government of National Accord agreed, last August, to strengthen joint military cooperation, support the capabilities of the Libyan army, and establish a triangular coordination center between them.
