In a statement issued by it, the Algerian Foreign Ministry welcomed the signing of the “5 + 5” military committee in Geneva, Switzerland, on the ceasefire agreement in Libya, calling on the Libyan parties to abide by it and implement it sincerely and in good faith, expressing hope that the agreement will be “sustainable, binding and respectful.” According to what was reported by the Algerian News Agency.
The Algerian Foreign Ministry reiterated its “firm and principled position calling for the need to reach a peaceful political settlement through a Libyan-Libyan dialogue that leads to the establishment of legitimate and unified political institutions through fair, transparent and inclusive elections to get this brotherly and neighboring country out of the crisis it is suffering from.”
It is worth noting that several countries and many organizations declared their welcome to the ceasefire agreement in Libya, which was signed by the Libyan Joint Military Commission in Geneva.
