The Russian Foreign Ministry expresses its concern about the delay in appointing a UN envoy to Libya.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed Moscow’s concern about the delay in appointing a new special representative of the UN Secretary-General to Libya.

On Friday, a spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that international efforts that provide foreign participation to Libyans to overcome the consequences of the devastating political-military crisis must be effectively coordinated by the United Nations, according to “Sputnik”.

It is worth noting that the former UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salama, announced last March that he had resigned from his post, and the American “Stephanie Williams” was appointed as the acting head of the UN mission to Libya.
