American Libyan Alliance: Virginia Court refuses to plea from Haftar’s lawyer, and gives US State Department 60 days to express its opinion on the charges against him.

The American Libyan Coalition revealed, on Wednesday, that the East Virginia Court in the United States of America rejected Haftar’s defense attorney’s plea regarding the invalidity of the notification regarding the case against Haftar, giving the US State Department 60 days to express an opinion on the charges against him and the allegations mentioned in the cases brought against him.

The Alliance said, according to its official page, that the court ruled the continuation of the case and not rejecting it regarding the accusation of Haftar’s violation of the US War Crimes and Torture Act, noting the existence of important evidence, including his visual recordings in which he orders his followers to commit war crimes.

The Alliance indicated that during the hearing of the petition request of Haftar’s lawyer regarding the case of the “Al-Sweid, Al-Kirshini, Al-Zaqali and Al-Tonali families”, he stressed that Haftar has “presidential immunity in the absence of a clear government system in Libya,” and the plaintiffs did not provide any evidence of Haftar’s sons ’involvement in the crimes mentioned in the memoranda. Complaining or planning it from inside the United States or having a connection with America except for Haftar’s ownership of real estate in Virginia and several other points.
