Continuation of force majeure in the ports of Ras Lanuf and Sidra due to the presence of mercenaries.

The National Oil Corporation has still not announced the lifting of the force majeure imposed on the oil ports of Ras Lanuf, Sidra and Breqa , as a result of the presence of Russian Wagner mercenaries in them for nearly a year.

The National Oil Company announced, in its latest statement, the resumption of the work of Zueitina Port , to initiate production arrangements after assessing the security of the port and the company’s fields, in accordance with the occupational safety and security standards applicable in the national oil sector.

The Corporation previously made clear its refusal to announce the lifting of force majeure from the oil fields and ports, except after the departure of the Wagner mercenaries and Haftar’s militias, which besiege a number of them by force of arms.

It is worth noting that the National Oil Corporation announced, on Saturday, the lifting of the state of force majeure from the safe oil fields and ports after being closed by Haftar’s militia since January 17.
