The National Oil Corporation welcomes the statements of Al-Sarraj and Aqeela without removing force majeure from the ports.

On Friday, the National Oil Corporation welcomed the statement of the President of the Presidency Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and the Speaker of the Tobruk Parliament, Aqeela Saleh, of the ceasefire and the work to resume production and export of oil.

The Corporation renewed, on its official page, the call for the evacuation of all oil installations of all forms of military presence to ensure the security and safety of its workers so that it can lift the status of force majeure on the oil ports, stressing the need for the return of the security administration in the oil installations under its exclusive supervision.

The Corporation explained that the statements of Al-Sarraj and Aqeela are in support for its proposal to resume production and export of oil while freezing sales revenues in the Corporation’s accounts at the Libyan Foreign Bank, until comprehensive political arrangements are reached in accordance with the outcomes of the Berlin conference.

It is worth noting that both the President of the Presidency Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Tobruk, Aqeela Saleh, announced in two separate statements the cessation of hostilities in all of the Libyan soil and the work to restore oil production and export.
