
Acting Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Libya, Stephanie Williams, welcomed the stance of the Speaker of Tobruk Parliment Aqeela Saleh, in support of an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Libya.
Williams also welcomed, during her meeting with Saleh in Geneva on Friday, the announcement of the National Oil Corporation to lift force majeure and resumption of exporting of oil, stressing the need not to place any obstacles in the way of the flow of oil; Being the property of all Libyans, and its revenue must be managed transparently and professionally, according to what was published by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
The two sides appealed to the international parties to stop their negative interference in Libya, and to facilitate and support the political process; In order to prevent a new humanitarian and economic catastrophe in Sirte and the Petroleum Crescent , according to the statement.
