The newspaper added that the mercenaries who were brought from countries such as Chad and Sudan, were trained in assassination and bombing to create chaos, under the supervision of special teams in the Egyptian and Emirati armed forces, pointing out that the mercenaries confessed to the investigation teams with all their connections, and that they were trained under the supervision of French military units.
Al-Zawiyah Security Directorate
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Alzawiya Security Directorate announced yesterday the arrest of a cell belonging to the Islamic State in the city of Alzawiya after monitoring and follow-up operations.
The Directorate clarified that it carried out monitoring and follow-up operations of the terrorist cell that was planning to carry out terrorist operations to undermine stability and spread chaos in Libya, noting that the cell members had been handed over to the competent authorities.
Misurata operating Chamber
On July 5, the force affiliated with the Joint Security Operations Chamber managed to arrest the alleged Syrian national, Omar Dabbous, belonging to the Islamic State.
The Chamber added that this process came after information was available stating that this person was subordinate to ISIS and that he was in contact with several terrorist elements outside Libya and he is one of the refugees who came with his family to Libya in 2016 to escape the deteriorating conditions in their country.
Anti-terror unit
The Anti-Terrorism Unit of the Joint Security Operations Chamber in Misurata carried out last June 24, in cooperation with the Security Operations Department, an operation to arrest an al-Qaeda operative.
The unit added that the arrested person holds Tunisian nationality and is in the capital, Tripoli, hiding in a crowded residential neighborhood.
