The Turkish Foreign Ministry affirmed that France’s support for Haftar fueled the crisis in Libya and encouraged him to take his military approach, and increased the suffering of the Libyan people, and that its statements on Turkey regarding Libya show its vague and inexplicable policy in Libya.
The Foreign Ministry added, in a statement, on Tuesday, that France, with its support for Haftar and its failure to stand with a political solution, ignited the crisis in Libya and supported an attempt to overthrow the legitimate government and establish an authoritarian regime in the country.
The Foreign Ministry indicated that Turkey stands with the legitimate government of Libya within the framework of its recognition by the international community, while France supports an illegal person in violation of the United Nations and NATO resolutions.
It is worth noting that the French Foreign Ministry issued, on Monday, a statement denouncing any continuous external interference in Libya, especially Turkish intervention, and described it as unacceptable, stressing the need to end it.
