The German Foreign Ministry has revealed the request of the aggressor against the capital, Khalifa Haftar, to return the talks of the Military Committee known as the 5 + 5 Committee, which is the result of the outputs of the Berlin Conference on Libya held in the middle of January.
Haftar, who withdrew from the Berlin conference and the Moscow meetings without signing the ceasefire, requests the return of the committee after his approval of the truce in Ramadan and his announcement of the withdrawal of his forces on the pretext of relocation, so what makes him want to dialogue, and will this time be serious in his intention?
Haftar is not trustworthy
Journalist Ali Abuzayd considered Haftar’s talk about his readiness to return to the 5 + 5 talks while he was withdrawing – “an attempt to gain time” in order to rearrange his ranks, and to ensure that he did not lose more positions.
Abuzayd added, in a statement to Arraed that this step comes after everyone knew that Haftar was the intransigent party who refused to sign the cease-fire in Moscow and Berlin, and his spokesperson said that they only knew the nozzles of the rifles; Therefore, Haftar’s seriousness and credibility in any talks are not reliable, as he put it.
French pressure
On the other hand, journalist and writer Abdullah Al-Kabeer believes that Haftar was forced to take this step under French pressure, after the conflict entered a new stage in light of the American monitoring of the growing Russian influence.

An illusion of existence
The writer Mohamed Ghemim believes that this step is an attempt by Haftar to delude the world and his followers that he is still present in Libya, through Germany and its foreign ministry , which has a good reputation in international politics, and through which it tries to market himself again.
Ghemim added, in a statement to Arraed, that Haftar’s request came after the defeats he suffered in the western region over the past months, which made him think about looking for any way out, after knowing his natural and true size.
