The Ministry of State for the Displaced and Refugees Affairs affirmed on Sunday that targeting of Haftar militias for the center of the displaced in Ain Zara is a war crime in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, the Ministry condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of the headquarters of the displaced persons’ residence, calling on the UN mission in Libya to take a firm and clear stance on the repetition of these attacks on civilians and populated areas, and to appeal to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures to provide protection for the displaced inside their shelters.
It is worth noting that 7 civilians were killed and 17 of the displaced were injured after targeting the headquarters of the IDPs’ residence in the Alfornaj area in the capital, Tripoli, the day before yesterday.
