United Nations: 1,200 Russian Wagner mercenaries and Syrian mercenaries fighting with Haftar.

The UN Panel of Experts report confirmed the presence of Russian Wagner mercenaries and Syrian fighters, to support Haftar’s militia in its aggression against Tripoli.

The expert group document, which was submitted to the Security Council on April 24 and obtained by Agence France-Presse, explained on Wednesday that the number of Wagner mercenaries ranges between 800 and 1,200 individuals, which is the first time that the United Nations lists Wagner mercenaries by name in its report, according to the agency.

The document indicated that Russian “Wagner” mercenaries and Syrian fighters had come from Damascus to support Haftar, and that the relations on the ground between Wagner and Haftar were marred by differences, indicating that they had monitored the presence of special Wagner soldiers since October 2018, and had also documented the presence of other military personnel from a group called “Russky” System Basnosti RSB ”specializes in the maintenance and repair of military aircraft.

It is worth noting that the Chairman of the Parliament of Tobruk Aqeela Saleh confirmed in a video recording last week that he had received an intelligence report from Russian officials in which they confirmed that Haftar’s forces were about to fall in southern Tripoli and Tarhuna after the air force strikes and the cut of supplies.
