Asarraj confirms sending an objection to the European Union against “IRINI”, and “Demayo” renews his country’s support for the “GNA”

On Wednesday, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi de Mayo renewed his country’s support for the reconciliation government and the political track of the solution in Libya.

And de Mayo, in a phone call to the President of the GNA, Faiz Asarraj, expressed his country’s gratitude for the support that the GNA has provided to the Italian efforts to combat Corona, praising the measures taken by the GNA in the face of the consequences of the Corona pandemic, according to the media office of the President of the GNA.

For his part, Asarraj renewed his opposition to the “IRINI” operation to monitor the arms embargo, because it was limited to the sea, stressing the need for the process to be integrated by land, air and sea, pointing to the GNA is sending a memorandum in this regard to the European Union.

It is worth noting that the President of the GNA sent letters to the President of the UN Security Council and the European Union Commission in which he confirmed the reconciliation government’s refusal to “IRINI” operation aimed at monitoring maritime borders ignoring the land and air borders of Libya.
