The Supreme Council of State called on the GNA government to play its role in demanding a clear explanation of the process launched by the European Union to monitor the arms embargo to Libya.
In its statement on the official page, Tuesday, the Council urged the GNA to protest to the European Union for its selectivity, which gives indications of bias in favor of the military coup attempt led by Khalifa Haftar and those behind him.
The Council expressed concern about the ambiguity surrounding this process, noting that the European Union’s insistence on monitoring the sea only and turning a blind eye to monitoring the eastern and southern borders from which various arms shipments enter, and ignoring air cargo operations, casts a shadow over the intentions of this process, and opens a door wideopen for questions about the real goals of this process.
It is worth noting that the European Union foreign policy official announced, on Tuesday, the launch of a process to monitor the arms embargo imposed on Libya.
