Presidential Council welcomes international calls for a humanitarian truce to address the Corona pandemic and calls for opening oil to provide the needs of Libyans.

The Presidential Council welcomed the call by the international community to declare an immediate humanitarian cessation of hostilities and allow local authorities to address the Corona epidemic.

On Wednesday, the President called on the international community to support Libya’s efforts to address this pandemic, stressing the need to reopen oil fields and ports and resume exports under the management of the National Oil Corporation, in light of the requirements for this effective and urgent confrontation of the Corona pandemic, and to ensure the provision of basic requirements for all citizens .

The President affirmed his commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 2510, stressing at the same time the right to respond to the daily violations of civilians homes, facilities and civilian installations in the framework of legitimate self-defense, calling on the international community to address the aggressor directly to stop its violations and crimes.

It is noteworthy that the President of the Presidential Council declared, last Saturday, the state of emergency and the closure of all land and air borders in the context of combating the outbreak of the Corona virus, and stop its spread in the country.
