Asarraj: We reject Hifter’s requests to link the opening of oil ports with the redistribution of revenues, and we will not sit with him again.

Prime Minister the GNA, Asarraj, confirmed on Monday, his rejection of Hifter’s demands to link the opening of ports to the redistribution of oil revenues, noting that revenue income benefits the entire country.

Asarraj told Reuters news agency that Libya would face a catastrophic situation if the Hifter blockade of oil fields continued, which led to the cessation of crude production.

In a related context, Asarraj confirmed their respect for the Berlin Conference’s call for a ceasefire and political talks, again refusing to sit again with Hifter.

It is worth noting that the National Oil Corporation announced, on Saturday, “force majeure” after Hifter Militias stopping oil exports from the ports of Brega, Ras Lanuf, Al-Harika, Zuaitina and Sidra.
