President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Asarraj, confirmed on Tuesday, in his meeting with the American ambassador in Turkey, “David Satterfield,” the importance of returning to the political track in accordance with the political agreement, and the resolutions of the Security Council in particular, and through a Libyan national conference.
Asarraj noted during the meeting that brought the two sides in Turkey to the response of the reconciliation government to the Russian and Turkish presidents’ call for a ceasefire, as a step to return to the political track through the Berlin conference.
In turn, Satterfield pointed out that the United States affirmed on the continued ceasefire and support the political process through dialogue and through the tracks of the Berlin Peace Conference.
The meeting discussed the strategic partnership between the United States and Libya to combat terrorism, and ways to expand this partnership to include the areas of economy and development.
It is worth noting that the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Asarraj, signed a Russian-Turkish initiative, which stipulates the cease-fire resolution, in Moscow.
