Turkey: The European Union overlooked Greece’s “looting” of Libya’s rights in the Mediterranean.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the European Union has previously overlooked the looting by Greece of Libya’s rights over its territorial waters.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aqsui added on Friday, that the European Union is not authorized to define the areas of maritime authority, and it is not entitled to issue a ruling on the legality of the memorandum of understanding concluded duly between Turkey and Libya.

Turkey applied to the United Nations last week for the registering of the memorandums of understanding signed between Libya and Turkey on the 27th of last November regarding the demarcation of the maritime borders of the two countries.
