Italy condemns targeting Mitiga airport and calls for an immediate ceasefire of attacks

The Italian Embassy in Libya has condemned the repeated attack on Mitiga International Airport, endangering civilian travelers.

The embassy said on its official page on Monday that these attacks must stop immediately, stressing that airports are not military targets, but used for civilian purposes.

The Embassy urged all parties to take all necessary precautions to protect the civilian population in accordance with international human rights and humanitarian law.

It is noteworthy that Hafter targeted, on Sunday, Mitiga airport with a number of missiles, which resulted in the injury of three pilgrims and material damage to the airport.
