New US Ambassador: I pledge to work to end the Libyan conflict and reach a political solution

The new US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, pledged on Thursday to work for an immediate end to the current conflict in the country.

Norland said in a statement that our goal is clear; to end the fighting and support the efforts of the United Nations led by the United Nations Envoy for Support in Libya Ghassan Salama; to reach a political solution to the crisis.
