The Ministry of Oil and Gas said that its efforts were crowned with success by collecting the amount of $ 2.379 billion owed from foreign companies that were deposited in the accounts of the Libyan state.
The ministry added, in a statement, that it had found out that the National Oil Corporation had taken measures in violation of the provisions of the law by requesting to postpone the payment of Libyan international dues from foreign companies since October 2020.
The ministry explained that this behavior deprived the state of these funds and using them in development projects, and that the security and control authorities and the Attorney General began investigating this.
The Ministry called on all investors not to comply with any procedures or measures in violation of the law.
