A member of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee, Major General Mukhtar al-Naqasa, said that the Cairo meetings were positive, and that the delegations of Chad, Sudan and Niger attended the meetings from the beginning and expressed their full readiness to cooperate with the 5 + 5 committee in the file of African mercenaries.
Al-Naqasa confirmed – in statements to Arabi 21 – their agreement to set up a practical mechanism for the exit of mercenaries and foreign fighters, pointing to the possibility of concluding the sessions on Sunday with a final statement.
It is worth noting that the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee began its meetings in Cairo on Saturday in the presence of the UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis.
