Asayeh: We have not received the Parliament Election Law, and if it is tampered with, we will demand that it be amended.

The head of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Asayeh, said Thursday that the commission has not yet received the law on the election of the House of Representatives, and only received the law on the election of the president, and they had observations.

Asayeh added, in a press statement, that if the articles of the law are tampered with, we will ask the House of Representatives to amend it, noting that the deputies have no awareness of the scale of the disaster that the commission will face with regard to its procedures.

In a related context, Asayeh explained that they had no knowledge if Parliament responded to the Commission’s demands regarding technical observations on the President’s Election Law, noting that if the points requested by the Commission were not amended, the Commission’s procedures would be unprotected.

It is worth noting that the House of Representatives approved on Monday the parliamentary elections law using individual system only, in the presence of 60 deputies out of 200.
