During a meeting with the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, the leaders of the Misurata municipality confirmed their total rejection of the militarization of the state and their aspiration for the establishment of a modern democratic civil state.

A delegation of Misurata called to reveal the obstructors of the security arrangements, demanding the appointment of those charged with these arrangements, and providing the means to enable them to perform their work effectively and efficiently.

Misurata’s elders expressed their support for the Government of National Accord (NGA), the unity and reunification efforts, and ending political division and achieving stability in Libya, praising the economic reform program and the positive results achieved so far.

From his side, Al-Serraj said that the GNA will work to provide the possibilities to resolve the bottlenecks in the municipal facilities in Misurata and all Libyan cities, in a fair and balanced manner.

Interior Minister Fathi Pashaga said that the lack of security arrangements is the reason for the security vacuum in the capital and that there are security limitations that need to be set up to deal with it. He pointed out that the central and western military force has not yet entered Tripoli.
