A member of the Supreme Council of State Idris Boufayed, on Sunday, expected the rejection of the Supreme Council of the State of Article II in the amendment of the tenth and eleventh constitutional declaration by the House of Representatives (HOR).
In a statement to ArraedLg, Boufayed said that what is done by the president of the HOR is an attempt to thwart the constitution draft on difficult terms and a try to impose presidential elections only without holding parliamentary elections to maintain the presidency.
Boufayed explained that the tenth amendment was transferred to the Follow-up Committee of the Political Agreement, the Dialogue Committee, and the Legal Committee, and is expected to be delivered at tomorrow’s meeting.
He described the meeting of the Supreme Council of State as “fiery” because of the divisions of opinions on the deputies’ decisions regarding the constitutional amendment.
The House of Representatives (HOR) ratified last Monday the tenth and eleventh amendment to the constitutional declaration and the fortification of Article VI of the law of the referendum on the Constitution.
