America: We Are Committed to Make Libya Stable

The United States Department of State Policy Planning Director Kiron Skinner, on Wednesday, confirmed the United States’ commitment to “strongly stabilize Libya”.

In an interview with reporters at the US embassy in Rome, Skinner told the Italian news agency Aki that Washington understands the importance of Libya in terms of national security for Italy, adding, “it is also important for us.”

“Our country is deeply committed to a unified government in Libya,” Skinner said. “Our message in the upcoming days is that we have not forgotten Libya, even though we are facing serious problems in the broader Middle East.”

The United States participated in the Palermo conference on Libya which was held last week with a delegation headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister.
