Norland assures Al-Koni of America’s support for the election track within the roadmap.

The US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, confirmed – during a telephone conversation with member of the Presidential Council, Musa al-Koni – the United States’ support for elections within the original time frame of the road map of the political dialogue forum approved by the Security Council.

Norland emphasized that the insecurity and poverty in the south was an additional reason why elections should be held as soon as possible.

Norland had discussed, in a telephone conversation with member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, the next steps in the electoral process, which depends on “Libyan leaders”, according to a tweet by the US embassy.

Guterres: We are working intensively with the Libyan parties to hold the elections as soon as possible.

MP from the city of Ghat: Militias affiliated with Al-Mabrouk Sahban prevent Dbaiba from visiting Ghat for the second time.
