Electoral Commission: We will appeal against the court decision for Saif Gaddafi within two days.

The High Elections Commission confirmed on Saturday that it will appeal the ruling of the Sabha Court, accepting the appeal submitted by Saif Gaddafi against his exclusion from the list of candidates for the presidential elections.

A member of the commission, Abubaker Marda, said in a statement to the Emirati “Al-Ain news” website, that the commission will appeal, during Sunday or Monday, to the appeal decision, after studying the reasons for rejecting the commission’s decision to exclude Saif Gaddafi.

Marda explained that the primary appeals door was closed, but the appeals have not yet closed, and the final stage of electoral appeals is supposed to end according to the time plan for the electoral process next Tuesday, unless there is an emergency that affects the course of the appeals committees’ procedures.

Marda added that the commission will file an appeal against all those excluded by the commission in the initial lists, but the judiciary rejected some of the commission’s appeals and returned some of them to the presidential race.

It is worth noting that the Sabha court accepted the appeal submitted by Saif Gaddafi against his exclusion from the list of the commission for the presidential elections, and decided to return him to the presidential race last Thursday.
