The French newspaper “Monde Afrique” said that Khalifa Haftar’s candidacy for the presidential elections will lead Libya to a state of division.
The newspaper added, in a report on Sunday, that the Military Prosecution had called for applying the arrest warrants issued by the Attorney General’s Office, which are mentioned by dated and contain five cases committed by Haftar during his attack on the capital, Tripoli.
Monde Afrique added that Haftar’s candidacy for the presidency, which it described as a “sleeping man”, is a very dangerous matter, as an officer in violation of military law, and for his repeated interference in political affairs, which is punishable by military law with 5 years imprisonment, according to the newspaper.
The French newspaper stated, “Haftar is ready to escalate violence in the country, by conveying double messages, through which he seeks to attract loyalists.”
It is worth noting that Haftar’s militias have been besieging the Sabha Court for several days, and evacuated its employees and judges to prevent consideration of the appeal submitted by Saif Gaddafi against the decision to exclude him from the lists of the presidential elections.
