National Oil Corporation celebrates the 60th anniversary of exporting the first shipment of crude oil from Marsa El Breqa.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) celebrated on Monday the 60th anniversary of the export of the first shipment of crude oil from the oil port of Marsa Al Breqa.

The head of the Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, congratulated the workers in the oil sector, on this occasion, referring to the status of this anniversary, as on October 25, 1961, King Idris Al-Senussi inaugurated the first shipment of Libyan crude, thus making Libya one of the oil-producing and exporting countries, adding that this vital sector represents a backbone of Life in Libya will remain coherent and rich in very high potentials of reserves, whether oil or gas.

It is worth noting that Libya currently produces about 1.2 million barrels of crude oil, while its income from selling oil and its derivatives last month amounted to nearly two billion dollars.
