United Nations inspectors have completed their examination of a small aircraft stored in Cyprus suspected of violating the arms embargo on Libya.
According to an aviation official in Cyprus, he told the Associated Press that the inspectors completed their examination of the single-engine plane “550 Trush” within one day on the 12th of October.
The official told the agency that the plane arrived for the first time at the main Larnaca airport in Cyprus on July 18, 2019, coming from the Jordanian capital, Amman, and flew to the island’s second airport in Pafos on July 31 this year, and has remained there since then.
The agency added, according to local media reports, that the plane may have participated in combat operations in Libya, or was used to operate cannons, in violation of the arms embargo imposed by the UN Security Council on the country.
