Bashagha: The presidential election law is good, and there is no reason to prevent the legislative elections law from being passed.

On Thursday, former Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha expressed his optimism that the elections will be held next December.

In an interview with the French newspaper “Jean Afrique”, Bashagha said that there is no reason not to pass the legislative elections law, especially after approving the “hardest” presidential election law, as he described it, noting that legislative elections have already been organized unlike the presidential elections, which will be the first. .

With regard to the law on the election of the president issued by Parliament, Bashagha considered that the law is good and he has no objection to the terms of the text, adding that the president is required to have only one nationality, and that it is an indispensable condition, because he will become under the influence of another country or be held accountable there in the event of a Judicial problem , according to him, indicating that choosing the president is a matter for the Libyan people to decide in the end.
