Kubis: “The House of Representatives must complete work on the Parliamentary Elections Law.”

The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Jan Kubis, called on the House of Representatives to complete work on the parliamentary elections law, during the next week, at the latest.

The Special Envoy stressed that the mission expected that the efforts of the House of Representatives would focus on finalizing the parliamentary elections law, and that the parliament’s leadership should work to strengthen its efforts towards building a broad consensus on the legislative framework for the elections, which is being worked on.

Kubis called on the Council and all relevant institutions and political actors to focus on completing the preparation of the constitutional and legislative framework for the December 24 elections, and to refrain from any action that could undermine the electoral process, and the country’s unity, security and stability.

Al-Urfi: The government has become a caretaker government until the election date.

Dbaiba: The government will continue its work until the elections.
