Norland renews his support for the unification of the military establishment in Libya and the holding of elections.

On Friday, the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, reiterated the need to unify the Libyan military establishment after the events in Chad.

“Norland” discussed with member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, preparing for the elections on December 24th, and the crucial importance of starting the withdrawal of forces and foreign fighters from Libya – according to the US embassy in Libya.

The two parties agreed that the exit of foreigners from the country is a goal that must be pursued in a manner that is achieved by agreement and with the support of all parties.

It is worth noting that the US ambassador to Libya “Richard Norland” said on March 23 that the most effective tool to achieve the departure of foreign mercenaries is a democratically elected Libyan government that enjoys full powers with a mandate to restore the country’s sovereignty, indicating that this government will be the result of the elections scheduled for December 24.
